WCAX Anchors to Emcee Seasons of Life

Melissa Sheketoff and Alexandra Montgomery, co-anchors of The Channel 3 Morning News on WCAX, Vermont’s CBS affiliate, will emcee Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice’s annual Seasons of Life Fashion Show, Friday, October 13.

Seasons of Life, CVHHH’s largest annual event and fundraiser, celebrates 18 years in 2017 with a move to a new location in downtown Montpelier, The Governors’ Ballroom at The Capitol Plaza Hotel & Conference. Kim Farnum, Manager of Community Relations & Development for CVHHH, is thrilled to welcome Melissa and Alexandra to the CVHHH family. “It feels like we already know Melissa and Alexandra from watching their reporting on television,” Kim says. “We are eager to welcome them to this year’s event.”

Melissa, who was a model in last year’s show, knows first-hand the benefits of the kind of one-on-one patient care that CVHHH provides. Her father-in-law was cared for at a hospice facility at the end of his life. “It was the most troubling time in my husband’s life. If not for the loving support of the hospice team, who kept Pop in good spirits and comfortable, I don’t know what we would have done. It’s so important to support hospice caregivers, who face tough situations every day. They are some of the heroes in Vermont. I am honored to be a part of this event.”

Alexandra says she, too, appreciates the work that caregivers provide to patients and their families. Alexandra’s grandfather received nursing care at home at the end of his life. “The nurses were a tremendous help to my grandmother, who was losing the man she had loved since high school! I expect Seasons of Life to be a fun and fruitful evening. Thank you for letting me be a part of the night.”

In addition to the fashion show, which features residents of CVHHH’s service area modeling clothing from local retailers, there will be a live auction and a silent auction, an India Hicks Trunk Show and a Wine Pull featuring wines retailing up to $200/bottle. “Every year, the volunteer fashion show committee works hard to add new components to the event to make it intriguing and entertaining for guests,” says Kim. “Our goal this year is to raise $40,000 to support CVHHH. With the gracious support of individuals and businesses in our community, we are optimistic that we can meet this goal.”
