My COVID-19 Vaccine Story

For most of her life, Sarah, pictured, has lived with several chronic conditions including asthma, diabetes, and hypothyroidism. When the pandemic hit in the spring of 2020, Sarah, who lives in Montpelier, was four months pregnant with her second child. She was considered high risk for complications from COVID-19 and took extra precautions to protect herself, her family, and her unborn baby.

When Sarah became eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine she signed up immediately. “It was something I needed to do,” she said. Sarah says that she would risk everything for her children, including getting the COVID-19 vaccine. “Getting vaccinated means getting to have the rest of my life with my kids. Why would I not do it?”

We understand that getting vaccinated is a personal decision. We also believe that the COVID-19 vaccine is a safe and effective tool for reducing the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
