Who We’re Seeking:

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Fund Development and Donor Relations to assume the pivotal responsibility of crafting a comprehensive fund development strategy that bolsters the organization’s strategic goals and financial resilience. This role will provide oversight over all facets of strategy, activities, and operations dedicated to executing this plan. Key areas of focus include the annual giving program, fostering relationships with major donors, facilitating planned giving initiatives, orchestrating fundraising events, securing town funding, and pursuing select grants. This role assumes leadership of the Development and Fundraising committee within the Board of Directors. Additionally, collaboration with the Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, to ensure alignment with cutting-edge marketing and communication practices, is essential.

Your Responsibilities:

As a member of our dedicated team, you’ll:

  • Develop and implement a fund development plan in line with organizational goals, gathering input from key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop goals in collaboration with team members which align with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Maximize annual support through a balanced approach of direct giving, sponsorships, and grants. Manage the planned giving program.
  • Lead the identification and cultivation of donors and prospects, to include but not be limited to individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive plan to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, maintaining regular contact.
  • Develop and implement a dashboard to track fund development impact and progress towards goals.
  • Plan and oversee appeal solicitations.
  • Participate in community activities, committees, and events that further the strategic goals of the Fund Development department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum Work Experience: 5-10 years of proven expertise in community relations, planned giving, major donor solicitation and relations, event planning, and donor database software administration. Experience within nonprofit organizations is preferred, along with a track record of effectively utilizing volunteers in development and fundraising efforts.
