CVHHH Appoints Rebecca McClung, RN, MSN, Chief Quality Officer

Barre, VT – Rebecca (Becky) McClung, RN, MSN, has been appointed Chief Quality Officer at Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice. Becky assumed the role in April. Connie Colman, RN, MEd., who formerly held this position, retired after over 35 years of service to the agency.

Becky has over 20 years of experience working in home health care as a Surveyor, Administrator, and Director of Nursing. “I believe that home health care creates a positive environment for healing. The ability to receive skilled, one-on-one care at home helps patients meet their personal care goals and better manage their conditions.”

Sandy Rousse, CPA, CVHHH’s President & CEO, looks forward to working with Becky to support the 23 communities we serve by improving patients’ care experience and reducing per-capita health care costs. “By utilizing quality and outcomes data, Becky will spearhead performance-improvement projects focused on reducing hospitalization and emergency department use in our service area. She will also lead the organization in implementing the most significant changes made in Medicare home health regulation in the last 15 years.”

Becky adds: “We know that the majority of adults want to stay in their homes for as long as they can. Home health make this possible by bringing hospital-level care and coordination right to an individual’s front door. In my mind, this is an incredible benefit for individuals and providers.”

Before joining CVHHH, Becky worked as the Director of Nursing for Embark Home Healthcare, a privately-owned Medicare-certified agency servicing four counties in central Florida. Prior to that, she was the Regional Administrator for Doctors’ Choice Home Health, a large Medicare-certified agency also in Florida. “My experiences in my former jobs have prepared me to take on this important role at CVHHH,” says Becky. “In particular, I have direct insight into Value-Based Purchasing, a key component of health reform in Vermont.” Becky was born and raised in Georgia and Virginia and received her MSN from Catholic University in Washington, D.C. She lives in Waterbury Center, Vermont. You may reach Becky via email at rmcclung@cvhhh.org or 224-2232.
