Diana Moore, Bereavement Coordinator, in partnership with Pat Lambdin, local music therapist, is offering Healing Rhythms drumming group, to help central Vermonters who are grieving. This is the second year that Diana and Pat will offer this support group, which is open to the public.
“Healing Rhythms is an experiential group for those who are grieving the loss of loved ones and who yearn for a creative, physical outlet,” says Diana. According to some sources, drumming accelerates physical healing, boosts the immune system, and produces feelings of well-being. “Group drumming can be a powerful practice, which helps us recognize that we are connected to one another. In this group, words are minimal. Participants are encouraged to express their feelings through their instrument. The drum becomes a companion in the healing process.”
