CVHHH Announces 2024 Community Partner of the Year

Ed Read has been named this year’s Community Partner of the Year.

Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) is thrilled to announce that board member Ed Read has been named this year’s Community Partner of the Year.

Ed Read, owner of Mad River Property Management & Garden Center, joined the CVHHH board in 2020. A year later, he became a member of the organization’s Finance Committee, which he currently chairs, and serves as the Treasurer of the CVHHH Board of Directors.

Born in St. Albans, Ed has been a resident of Fayston since 1995. He graduated from the University of Vermont and received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts in May 2020. Ed honed his diplomacy and negotiation skills as a bouncer at the Mangy Moose Saloon in Jackson Hole before embarking on an 11-year management career in the ski business at Sugarbush. Since 2001, Ed has owned Mad River Property Management and Garden Center.

His extensive community involvement includes 16 years on the Fayston Select Board, serving as a Vermont State Representative, and participating on the boards of Community Capital of Vermont and the Vermont State Tramway Board. Additionally, Ed has been active with the Mad River Valley Rotary Club and Mad River Path Association and has dedicated many years to coaching youth sports.

Ed was selected for his outstanding contributions to CVHHH. “We are proud to recognize Ed Read as our Community Partner of the Year. His dedication to the community and organizations such as ours is invaluable. Ed has taken a lead role in understanding healthcare finance and working with leadership and the board on how to navigate federal funding cuts while providing high-quality services to Central Vermonters. He is always willing to help when asked and is a long-time donor of CVHHH. Not to mention, he has a great sense of humor, too,” said Sandy Rousse, President & CEO of CVHHH.

“It’s really a privilege to be part of such an important organization. Sandy and the entire staff of CVHHH are true professionals, and their sincere dedication to bringing healthcare services to the residents of Central Vermont continually impresses me,” shared Ed Read.
