CVHHH is thrilled to share that funds raised on Giving Tuesday 2025, December 2, totaled nearly $10,000. These contributions were made by community members as part of CVHHH’s year-end fundraising appeal and will be used to sustain home health care and other vital services across the agency’s five programs.
Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity held on the Tuesday that follows Thanksgiving. During this annual recognition, community members are encouraged to come together and give to organizations and causes they support. In accordance with its mission, CVHHH provides home health and hospice care to all Central Vermonters, regardless of their ability to pay. Funds raised on Giving Tuesday, and during other appeal campaigns throughout the year, help CVHHH continue to deliver this care, as well as bridge the gap between the value of care provided and inadequate reimbursement from its primary payors, Medicare and Medicaid, private insurance providers, and patient self-pay.
Connor Contracting, a family-owned business with offices in Berlin and St. Albans, offered to match funds raised on Giving Tuesday, dollar-for-dollar, if CVHHH reached its goal of $2,500. Brothers and partners Fred, Stephen, Michael, and John live, work, and support local organizations within Central and Northern Vermont, and are long-time supporters of CVHHH. “We’re so happy to be involved in this,” says John Connor. “My brothers and I are very proud to be able to share some financial resources to assist CVHHH in kicking off a good campaign and providing greatly needed resources that they can then pay forward to other patients in need.”
At close of business on Giving Tuesday, CVHHH had received over $7,000 in gifts from members of the community. These funds unlocked the $2,500 match from Connor Contracting, bringing the donation total to over $9,600. “We are grateful for the outpouring of support on Giving Tuesday,” says Emily McKenna, CVHHH’s Chief Advancement Officer. “The community came out for CVHHH and exceeded our goal and expectations. The generosity shows us just how much community members value our work. Thank you to everyone who donated.”
