Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) has received a record-setting $111,000 in contributions for our 2025 Year-End fundraising campaign. This historic milestone was achieved through the incredible generosity of 375 donors who contributed to CVHHH in November and December of 2025.

CVHHH’s 2025 Appeal Honorary Chair Tom MacLeay, of Montpelier, detailed how his wife of 49 years, Charlotte, used her passion for public health and education to improve the lives of Central Vermont families. According to Tom, Charlotte dedicated her career to helping people in her community in a variety of ways, including as a nurse, a pioneer in Vermont childbirth education, a school librarian, and eventually as a CVHHH volunteer and board member. Charlotte’s service to CVHHH inspired Tom’s continued support for the agency.

“We simply could not exist without our community, who showed us in a very big way again how much they value the care we deliver to Central Vermonters at home.”

“Like her, I believe that CVHHH has a tremendous mission, with consistently strong leadership and dedicated, professional, and caring staff,” says Tom. “When I look around, almost every family I see — including my own toward the end of Charlotte’s life — has been supported in some way by CVHHH.”

Donations to CVHHH make it possible for our team to deliver high-quality, compassionate home health and hospice care to all Central Vermonters, regardless of their ability to pay or their insurance status. “We simply could not exist without our community, who showed us in a very big way again how much they value the care we deliver to Central Vermonters at home,” said Emily McKenna, CVHHH’s Chief Advancement Officer. “On behalf of CVHHH’s leadership team, board of directors, and staff, I want to thank Tom MacLeay for sharing his family’s story. I also want to thank the 375 individuals who gave and made this campaign such a success. This financial support is vital. We will put it right back into supporting agency operations and programming so that we can continue to show up and serve this community every day and whenever people need us.”
