As we approach the end of the year, you may be considering making a charitable donation. CVHHH relies on donations from the communities we serve to help cover costs for medical care, supportive-care services, and education that remain after reimbursements from our primary payors, Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. CVHHH has teamed up with the financial professionals at Granite Financial Group (GFG) in Barre to share how philanthropic giving can help support your financial goals and have the most impact for the organizations that matter to you.
Maximize your impact with a Qualified Charitable Distribution
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) enable you to make a tax-free donation using your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). A Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is the minimum amount that must be withdrawn from your IRA annually. If you’re 73 or older, you can donate directly from your IRA to CVHHH or another qualified charitable organization to satisfy your RMD and lower your Adjusted Gross Income. These gifts are not only vital to the organizations you support but may be able to help you reduce your taxable income by avoiding higher tax brackets and reducing taxes on Social Security and Medicare premiums.
If you’re interested in making a QCD, please contact Granite Financial Group or your financial advisor. If you’d like to know more about how your gift supports high quality, medically-necessary home health and hospice care for Central Vermonters, please contact Emily McKenna, Chief Advancement Officer, at emckenna@cvhhh.org.
