Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice (CVHHH) has received a 5-star patient experience rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that reimburses home health agencies and sets regulations and standards of care. This top rating places CVHHH in the top 5% of Medicare-certified home health agencies nationwide for patient satisfaction and is based on feedback from patients who received home health care from CVHHH during the twelve months ending March 31, 2025.
“This five-star rating is confirmation that CVHHH is delivering the care our patients need and expect from us,” said Sandy Rousse, CVHHH President & CEO. “We are so proud to be recognized among the best home health care providers in the nation. The Central Vermont community is the foundation for our work, and we remain committed to providing an outstanding experience for our patients and families.”
CVHHH patients are invited to complete a short anonymous survey after their home health episode ends, asking them to rate their experiences with CVHHH across the following key areas: communication about their care; quality of the care received; and willingness to recommend CVHHH. The survey is distributed at random by a third-party vendor.
The 5-star patient experience rating is a full star increase from the previous quarter, which demonstrates CVHHH’s successful, sustained effort to provide the highest-quality care and service to community members. Patient experience survey data is a key driver in CVHHH’s ongoing quality improvement efforts, and it influences Medicare reimbursement. CMS recommends using star ratings as one tool to help determine the right home health agency for an individual’s needs. The next rating reports will be available in late January 2026.
