We are pleased to announce that Peter McKenney, HR Generalist, has been named Above & Beyond Award winner for April. CVHHH gives out the Award monthly to celebrate the outstanding work of one employee on behalf of CVHHH staff, the agency, or the central Vermont community. Peter was nominated by his colleagues, who said: “Pete is a true team player, always offering to help people, always showing appreciation, and demonstrating positivity every day.”
Before joining CVHHH in January of 2017, Pete worked at National Life as a Case Manager II. When the HR Generalist position opened up, he jumped at the opportunity. “I was eager to pursue my career in HR and was drawn to CVHHH because of the nature of the work that we do to help central Vermonters. It is truly an inspiration.”
Peter takes a hands-on approach to his work and is tenacious in his commitment to helping CVHHH employees resolve their issues: “My priority is to get the information that staff request as quickly as possible. If I don’t have the answer, I will find one. It is rewarding to work one-on-one with many employees, helping them with benefits, work-life-balance, and mindfulness.”
Peter has an undergraduate degree from Lyndon State College, an MBA from Albertus Magnus College, and a Master of Organizational Management from Ashford University. Peter lives in Braintree, Vermont with his wife Ashley, who works as a scheduler for CVHHH, their three cats, and a dog. He loves bicycling and looks forward to getting outside this spring and summer.
