A Conversation about End-of-Life Care in Central Vermont

On the eve of Hospice & Palliative Care Month, we are sharing this clip of our discussion with the Vermont Conversation’s David Goodman. The interview, taped at the end of September at WDEV’s studio in Waterbury, covers a range of care options available at the end of life, with special attention paid to hospice.

You will hear members of our hospice team, including Hospice & Palliative Care Manager Jewelene Griffin, RN, Ginny Fry, MA, Bereavement Coordinator, (pictured second from right), and Dr. Jonna Goulding, Hospice Medical Director and Director of Palliative & Spiritual Care at Central Vermont Medical Center, (pictured second from left) discuss the history of hospice in Vermont and the benefits of receiving hospice care at home.

CVHHH Board Member David Zahn (pictured far right) closes the interview with a frank discussion about his experience with hospice for his wife, Anci Slovak, an accomplished artist and former CVHHH Board Member. David speaks honestly and lovingly about how hospice helped him and Anci focus on spending time together, on maintaining a sense of normalcy — on just being husband and wife.
