Lisa Lockerby-Washburn, PT, Named Above & Beyond Winner for June

We are pleased to announce that Lisa Lockerby-Washburn, Physical Therapist, has been named Above & Beyond winner for June. CVHHH gives out the Award monthly to celebrate the outstanding work of one employee on behalf of CVHHH staff, the agency, or the central Vermont community.

CVHHH’s HR Advisory Committee selected Lisa to receive the June Award after she was nominated by a number of her colleagues. Sherry Camley, RN, who has worked with Lisa for a number of years, says of Lisa that she is “funny, smart, cares deeply for her patients and coworkers, and is a fountain of knowledge.” She adds: “Lisa has gone above and beyond on numerous occasions, including volunteering to work extra weekends, when her colleagues had a family emergency.” Chandra Miller, Physical Therapy Assistant, says: “Lisa always stands up for what’s right. She is a real team player and a fantastic coworker.”

Lisa grew up in the Lake Champlain Islands and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1994. She began her therapy career at an acute care hospital in New Jersey and at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital in the Boston Area. After moving back to Vermont to be closer to family, she worked at a nursing home in Burlington before moving to CVHHH in 2001. 16 years later, she is an active and committed member of our Therapy Team. “At first, I didn’t know if I would like home health,” says Lisa. “Soon, though, I realized that I had found my niche. I enjoy working with my rehab clients in their homes where they need to function. It is rewarding to watch people get better. I love working as a part of an interdisciplinary team to help keep central Vermonters in their homes.” When Lisa is not working, she enjoys spending time at her family camp on the Lake Champlain islands with her husband Jay and their two children Jacob and Sydney.
