Central Vermont Home Health & Hospice is a full service, not-for-profit Visiting Nurse Association committed to providing high quality, medically necessary home health and hospice care to all central Vermonters, regardless of a person’s ability to pay. In addition, we promote the general welfare of all central Vermonters with health promotion, long term care, and maternal-and-child health services.
Who You Are – Private Duty Care Taker
- You are experienced in providing care and companionship for and understand the unique needs of an individual living with dementia
- You are dedicated, supportive, empathetic, and most importantly, patient
- You are looking for some work life balance – this is 20 hours a week, with the potential for more hours, located in the Mad River Valley area
- You are not a nurse, but have the experience and qualities we are looking for, or if you are a nurse and are interested in this opportunity

Your Day-to-Day – Private Duty Care Taker
- Bring positive social interaction, warmth, and emotional support to this client
- Ensure your client’s comfort and safety by providing support with essential tasks
- Morning routine assistance, such as helping the client get up and ready for their day, getting breakfast and providing medicine reminders/prompts
- Encouraging exercise and movement into the client’s day
- Keeping the client engaged and busy with activities, conversation, and companionship
- Helping with personal care, including bathing and dressing
- Tracking your client’s condition and reporting changes to your supervisor
- Offering respite care to relieve family caregivers

Requirements – Private Duty Care Taker
- Valid driver’s license
- High School Graduate (if a PCA)
- LNA Licensure (if an LNA)
- LPN Licensure (if an LPN)
- RN Licensure (if an RN)
