CVHHH is proud to report that our hospice program recently passed a survey conducted by the State of Vermont Division of Licensing & Protection (DLP) with the highest marks. According to DLP, CVHHH’s hospice program was found to be in “strong compliance” with state and federal hospice regulations, passing the survey with no deficiencies.
“Having a deficiency-free survey is pretty special to CVHHH,” says Sandy Rousse, CPA, CVHHH’s President & CEO. “Hospice provides clinical care and volunteer, spiritual, and bereavement support that is evaluated in the survey process. It is our priority to ensure that every patient who has chosen CVHHH for their hospice care—along with members of their family—receive the care and support that meets their unique needs. The deficiency-free survey is proof that our hospice team, led by Hospice & Palliative Care Clinical Manager, Jewelene Griffin, RN, is providing the high-level of care that is required to meet the needs of our community. The survey was conducted in the spring and included comprehensive review of CVHHH’s hospice team and program. Surveyors conducted home visits, reviewed patient records and other hospice processes related to patient care, and interviewed hospice staff, inquiring about their role and functions and how they enhance the quality of care and, patient and family experience in delivering hospice care. Surveys are conducted every three years by the DLP to ensure that Vermonters are treated with respect, dignity, and independence.
