Bonnie Breer, Hospice RN, Named Agency’s First Above & Award Winner

We are pleased to announce that Bonnie Breer, Hospice & Palliative Team RN, has been named Above & Beyond Award winner for April. CVHHH recently created the Award, which is given out monthly, to celebrate the outstanding work of one employee on behalf of CVHHH staff, the agency, or the central Vermont community. Bonnie was nominated in recognition of her skills, unwavering support of the Hospice & Palliative Care Team, and continued willingness to step up and help her coworkers. Award recipients are nominated by their peers.

“As a member of the hospice and palliative care team, I help patients experience the kind of death that they want, at home, surrounded by family and loved ones,” says Bonnie. “To me, this is how death should be. It is my mission to help people find comfort and peace at the end of their journey. The work is challenging, and also rewarding when I can help someone follow their own path. My patients and my wonderful teammates keep me motivated to go above and beyond every day.”

Jewelene Griffin, RN, Hospice & Palliative Care Program Manager adds: “Bonnie Breer is a valuable member of the CVHHH Team. She provides nursing services for our Hospice & Palliative patients and serves as our on-call nurse weekdays to support our patients after hours. She is a compassionate and caring nurse that is always willing to help her other team members. We are very thankful for Bonnie and congratulate her on this recognition.”

Bonnie joined CVHHH’s Hospice & Palliative Care team in 2008. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two sons, Jeremiah and Jonah, her daughter-in-law, and grandsons as well as her two dogs, two cats, and three birds. She lives in Cabot.
