Beth Delano, OTA, Named Above & Beyond Award Winner for May

We are pleased to announce that Beth Delano, Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), has been named Above & Beyond Award winner for May. CVHHH gives out the Award monthly to celebrate the outstanding work of one employee on behalf of CVHHH staff, the agency, or the central Vermont community. Beth was nominated by her colleague, Laura Murphy, Occupational Therapist, who says: “Beth puts her heart and hard work into every visit. She’s always thinking about how she can best support her coworkers and her clients.”

“Doing Occupational Therapy in the home is very real,” says Beth, who has worked at CVHHH for eight years. “I have always loved working with elders and hearing the richness of their stories. As an OTA, I address very specific issues and obstacles on the spot and work to restore an individual’s independence while also educating and supporting a person’s family and caregivers.” Beth has been a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for 43 years. Occupational Therapists cover all functions of daily living, from bathing and dressing to high-level executive skills, through the use of adaptive equipment and the development of strategies that help individuals with neurological, cognitive, visual, and other issues.

“I am motivated by my clients and colleagues. I work with a group of outstanding Occupational Therapists who embody an inspiring and ethical philosophy and who go the extra mile. Their support is what sustains me.”

Outside of work, Beth enjoys gardening and exploring the woods, water, and snow with her husband around their Worcester home. She also loves to sing and enjoys illustrating lamp shades. She has two grown children.

We offer in-home physical, speech, and occupational therapy support as well as care for individuals recovering from stroke and surgery. Click here to learn more about our rehabilitation services.
