The Bereavement Support Group meets every other Monday night from 6-8 pm and every other Wednesday from 10-11:30 am in the conference room at Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice in Berlin. The group is open to anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one. There is no fee.
The focus is one of learning together about how to cope with grief, with the intention of receiving and offering support to each other. The group is informal and includes personal sharing of our grief experiences. Each session is accompanied by relevant handouts, books and videos that can be borrowed for review at home.
Our goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment for exploration of the changes brought to our lives by the death of a loved one. We encourage participants to attend as many sessions as possible, but welcome you to “drop in” whenever you may need to, over the coming months or years.
The ground rules include – any sharing that takes place in the group is to be kept within the group; no individual will criticize or make public judgments about the responses of another member of the group; and all members will be invited and given the opportunity to speak in the group if they choose.

CVHHH's 6- week workshop is designed for any family member and/or friend caring for someone with a long-term or life limiting illness. These workshops are FREE and open to the community as well as to our patients and their families. The workshop focuses on the caregiver's self-care techniques and provides tools to help reduce the feelings of stress, guilt, anger, and depression that often accompany Caregiving. We reframe the experience of Caregiviing by identifying resources and developing support systems.
